What is a Key Employee?

The total amount of benefits provided to Key Employees must be less than 25% of the total amount of benefits provided to all employees. Key employee means (i) an officer having an annual compensation greater than $170,000 in 2016; (ii) a 5% owner; or (iii) a 1% owner with annual compensation greater than $150,000.
